The Sound of Salzburg

Salzburg is famous for two things and if Mozart is not at the top of your list then the Sound Of Music must be!
Visit the city where it all began, from the Nonnberg Abbey to the Untersberg where you can climb every mountain…. search high and low! The city is in one of the most beautiful locations in Europe, nestling amongst the snow capped mountains you can amble the narrow streets and discover the unique shopping and restaurants that Salzburg has to offer. And at every turn you’ll find the settings from the real life story of Maria Rainer (later Von Trapp) that were later used as settings for the film.

Take one of the tours through the beautiful lakes and mountains to visit other settings used in the film and sample the delicious apfelstrudel, ride the cable car up the Untersberg and take in the views (and the beer!).

Visit the Salzburg Festival Hall where Maria and the children were joined by the captain to win the Salzburg Festival, sing Do-Re-Me in the Mirabel Gardens whilst dancing round the fountains and explore the cemetery where the family hid before escaping over the mountains to Italy!
