The fusion of traditional and the modern is apparent throughout both hotels: as you approach El Xalet, you’ll be immediately struck by the building’s impressive Gothic spires, ornate carvings and elaborate stonework. This theme continues inside, where you’ll be greeted by a delightful mosaic and marble reception area.
Just along the road from the Xalet, you’ll find the Hotel Noucentista whose stunning architecture is matched only by its genuinely awe-inspiring interior. Just like the Xalet, there’s a perfect fusion of the tradition and the modern but, given that the Noucentista is all newly decorated, the quality here is probably a little bit higher. Hotel Galeon/Hotel Pavillon 3*
Both hotels can be a bit on the straight side in high season but this is more than compensated for by good value, a terrific location and a more than friendly welcome from the hotel’s staff. Both hotels’ main facilities (reception, dining room, lounge, bar, swimming pool) are located in the Galeon, meaning that accommodation at the Pavillon is more private. Whichever you choose, however, you’ll find that every room is air conditioned, with a fully equipped ensuite bathroom, balcony and satellite TV. Singles can opt to receive a twin for sole use if they’re clever enough to book sufficiently early; latecomers travelling on their own might have no choice other than to take the a smaller single room, so book as early as you can. Hotel Romantic & De La Renaixenca 3*
Located just a few minutes from the centre of town and no more than about five minutes’ walk from the beach, the Romantic’s delightful 19th century exterior is mirrored by its interior of mosaic floors, chandeliers, sculpture, painting and pottery, much of it– according to Sitges legend – donated by impoverished artists in days of yore in lieu of paying their bill. Don’t try that one yourself, by the way. Times have changed!
The bar at the Romantic is one of the town’s best-loved haunts and you’ll love the mature gardens where you can enjoy your breakfast of a morning or an early evening aperitif to set you up for a night out. Just opposite the Romantic you’ll find the Hotel de la Renaixenca. Similar to the Romantic, although not quite as ornately decorated, the Renaixenca offers a higher degree of privacy in that it has no reception or restaurant facilities. Instead, these are provided at the Romantic. Tara Apartments 4*
The Tara offers a choice of accommodation types and sizes to suit everyone, whether you’re travelling on your own, as a couple or among a group of friends, we’re sure we’ll be able to find something to suit. There’s a well kept lawn which surrounds a smallish but perfectly adequate swimming pool and these lawns are surrounded by six foot tall ivy hedges, adding a feeling of seclusion and privacy to the whole property. Every apartment has a pool view and, because the building is just three storeys high, there isn’t a lift. Whichever apartment you go for, here’s a list of features which are common to all of them.

The design means that up to six people can occupy these apartments perfectly comfortably though they’re also very popular with couples who appreciate a lot of living space in high quality surroundings. Kitchen facilities in these apartments are extensive: you’ll get a proper kitchen (full cooker, big fridge/freezer), plus a dining room with a table and half a dozen chairs. When you want it there’s easy access into town either on the groovy little train which runs right along the front to the end of the prom (four or five times an hour up until nine o’clock at night), or a cab (cost approximately 4 Euros). And for the more energetic it’s only a 20 minute stroll into town. Because you’re staying in an aparthotel, your accommodation is fully equipped for self catering while the property itself boasts all the facilities you’d expect from a hotel. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom and a balcony, while general
facilities include a pool surrounded by a terrace with complimentary
sunloungers, a bar, spacious lounge and a dining room where your
continental breakfast will be served.
The location of theResidence couldn’t be more convenient, five minutes
walk from the beautiful sandy beach, and minutes away from a host of
bars, restaurants and shops. What’s more, because there’s no reception
you’re given a key to the main front door as well as to your room,
allowing you to come and go as you please! Each room here at the
Residence is uniquely decorated, but all offer an ensuite bathroom,
satellite TV and remote control air conditioning. Rooms have either
double or twin beds, some with a balcony or terrace request (at a small
supplement).The Residence also has some single rooms though bear in mind
that they are on the interior of the building and have no natural light.
All rooms have tea and coffee making facilities and whichever room
you’re staying in you can always make use of the roof terrace which.
Some rooms have a balcony, so if this is important to you please try to
book early as balcony rooms are provided on a first come, first served
basis, and those going solo receive a twin room for sole use and all
rooms are double glazed. Some rooms can accommodate a third bed – so a
stay here can also work out very economically. The hotels bar, known as
Bar Magma, is mixed but extremely gay friendly and has a great
atmosphere, some of the friendliest staff in town and a most agreeable
outdoor terrace.
Significantly larger than some one bedroom apartments, the Atlanta
studios have been recently refurbished and, because you can fold away
your beds during the day, offer quite a lot of living space in the
combined sleeping/living area when compared with similarly priced
studios elsewhere (Note that pull-out beds are of different heights!).
If ever a pair of hotels summed up the spirit of Sitges, it would have
to be the Hotel El Xalet and its younger sister, the Hotel Noucentista.
Family run, both properties manage to ooze twenty-first century style
while still retaining the refinement and elegance of a gentler, more
leisurely age.
Your El Xalet bedroom is fully air conditioned, equipped with satellite
TV, mini-bar, phone and an ensuite bathroom. There’s a comfortable roof
terrace and a small swimming pool nestling among the hotel’s exquisite
gardens. And it’s here among the gardens where you’ll find the Xalet’s
internationally renowned outdoor restaurant: great food, truly idyllic
surroundings and efficient, friendly service with a choice between the
very reasonable set menu and the lavish gastronomy of the à la carte
option.
You really can’t fail to appreciate the Platja d’Or’s superb location
right on the seafront, just across the road from the golden beach (the
hotel’s name actually translates as ‘beach of gold’), and close to all
your favourite Sitges venues. There are two bars, a roof terrace with
gorgeous views and a Spanish style restaurant where breakfast is served.
These sister hotels provide customers with a much needed three star,
half board option close to the centre of town and just five minutes’
walk from the beach.
Probably the most famous hotels in all Sitges, these two properties have
been part of the fabric of the Sitges scene for years and, as such,
attract loyal customers from all over the world.
This artistic heritage is evident not only in the Romantic’s public
rooms but also in its bedrooms, all of which are different. Some are
larger than others, some have balconies while others don’t, but all
rooms allocated have an ensuite bathroom. Single rooms, incidentally,
are interior with almost no natural light, so if you’re travelling solo
you’ll need to bear this in mind. Air conditioning is not available at
either hotel, but all rooms come equipped with electric fans which in
most cases are ceiling mounted.
The Hotel Antemare offers great value for a four star hotel in a highly
desirable location. What’s more, it’s recently been done up with a brand
new decked sun terrace, the installation of an outdoor Jacuzzi and a bit
of general decorating. Located about five minutes from the seafront and
a ten minute walk into town, the 116 room Antemare comprises a
traditional older building and five modern annexes.
Every air conditioned room is spacious and comfortable, with an ensuite
bathroom, balcony, television and safety deposit box for rent.
Our best-selling Sitges property; the newly refurbished and air
conditioned Tara Apartments remain the only all-gay self catering
holiday accommodation in all Sitges located about a ten minute walk from
the centre of town and about a five minute walk from the beach.
