Hotel Los Principes 3*
The hotel has recently undergone a comprehensive refurbishment, with every room having been redecorated and generally spruced up. All rooms have an ensuite bathroom; some have balconies and all have a TV and a safety deposit box. Double and twins are a decent size, singles on the small side and the suites (of which there are just nine) are generously roomy. All rooms however, are clean, nicely decorated with comfortable beds; slight downside is the lack of air-conditioning. General hotel facilities include a designer restaurant, reception service, a friendly terrace bar and two rooftop sun decks, on one of which you’re more than welcome to wander about in the buff. We love nudity, so hats off to Juan Luis for coming up with that one. There’s also a small but perfectly formed rooftop pool which can be heated as and when required. Alta Apartments 3* Recently refurbished and representing superb value-for-money, the Alta apartments have been our top selling Tenerife property since we first starting operating to Puerto de la Cruz. The low prices at the Alta really do belie their undoubted quality which, coupled with their convenient location, make these apartments an ideal choice for those experiencing the north of Tenerife for the first time. The small Puerto de la Cruz beach is just 300 metres away, while the altogether more popular Lido is round about 500 metres from your front door. What’s more, the majority of the town’s gay and gay friendly venues are all within a short walk. You can choose between one or two bedroom apartments and, whichever you choose, you’ll find them bright, well furnished and spacious. There’s a separate living room with a sofabed for a third or fifth person and a good sized balcony, as well as a fully equipped kitchenette with an electric cooking rings, a conventional oven, a fridge and a coffee machine. Satellite TV is also provided. There’s a pool with a large bar serving snacks as well as a great selection of drinks, with ample sun terraces with free sun beds for you to keep your tan topped up. Every room is air conditioned with a balcony, sumptuous bathrooms, satellite TV, a mini bar and a safe for hire, and you can opt for smoking or non-smoking rooms. Full maid service takes place every day. And if you really want to push the boat out, you might well be tempted by one of the hotel’s suites which feature a bedroom, living room, bathrooms with hydro-massage baths and – what’s more – your own terrace with Jacuzzi!

The latest addition to the Puerto de la Cruz scene, the gay-run Hotel
Los Principes occupies an enviable position in the pedestrianised heart
of the old town, within just a few minutes’ walk of several gay venues
and the famous Lago Martianez.
This is the first gay complex to open, located in the resort of Playa de
las Americas. The Playaflor is located right in front of the Las
Americas beach and has recently been refurbished as part of its
reinvention as a gay complex. It’s made up of three-storey, attractively
decorated town houses; on the ground floor, you’ll find a fully-equipped
kitchen and a living room with satellite TV, while on the first floor
you’ll find your bathroom and bedroom. The top floor comprises your own
private sun terrace.
No gay complex would be complete without a bar, so it’s no surprise that
the focal point of Playaflor is its own chill-out bar, while if you want
you can have breakfast served in your townhouse on request. There’s the
occasional poolside barbecue party, special DJ nights and – most
importantly - extremely helpful and dedicated staff.
This hotel first entered our portfolio last year and since then has
become a firm favourite among you guys. Strangely, it’s neither in
Catalonia nor in Las Vegas, so we’re not really sure how it got its
name. It is, nonetheless, located right by the seafront within easy
reach of all Puerto de la Cruz’s gay attractions and provides a good
four star base from which to enjoy your Tenerife holiday.
The excellent, Oratava Palace provides the perfect high class base for a
top-notch Puerto de la Cruz holiday. Less than five minutes’ walk from
the Lido and the beach, the hotel is decked out beautifully with
designer furniture, fixtures and fittings and this air of quality is
apparent as soon as you walk in for the first time.
General facilities include a couple of swimming pools, one of which is
heated, a games room, gym, sauna, Turkish bath, beauty salon, a couple
of bars and two restaurants. Service is second-to-none – extremely
polite and attentive – and if you need to stay in touch with your
commercial empire while you’re away, there’s a business centre on site
with internet access and a fax.
